Just a few minutes’ to the north of the Rathbone is London Zoo, one of the world’s premier visitor, scientific and research zoos. It was opened in 1828 and today you’ll find almost 20,000 animals from over 800 species, from the very small to the absolutely huge. It really is a great day out for people of all ages and there’s so much more to do than just stare at the animals!
There are lots of live shows and interactive experiences including Tiger Territory, watching the penguins dive, eat and swim at Penguin Beach, getting up close and personal with the magnificent Western Lowland gorillas in Gorilla Kingdom as well as taking a trip to the treetops at Rainforest Life.
Wander through the stunning gardens and see some of the world’s most amazing animals at one of London’s busiest tourist attractions.
