Is there a more special seasonal match than Valentine’s Day and London?
The first thing you need to do is make sure you’ve booked our fantastic Celebrations Package (and save up to 30%) where we will ensure you can focus on your partner while we look after the Prosecco, the chocolate-dipped strawberries, the rose petals on your bed and a hearty cooked breakfast the following morning!
Then, London is at your disposal and even though February to many is a bit of a quiet month, there is so much going on in this amazing city you won’t know where to begin!
Read on for the February London lowdown…
This February, London will be inundated with the hottest designers, the coolest bloggers and the great and good of the press for London Fashion Week. It seems only the A-listers get the good seats at the top shows, but the London Fashion Week Festival which takes place straight after the main shows gives you a chance to browse and buy what they call ‘a curated edit of designer collections at show exclusive prices’. We call that ‘bargains’! The shopaholic’s dream is at The Store Studios, 180 Strand, London WC2…
If you feel the need to build up to LFW, Pure London is just the ticket. In their own words, Pure London is ‘the UK’s most unmissable fashion retail event’ and who are we to argue? It’s being held at Olympia in Kensington and features eight exciting show sectors including womenswear, menswear, accessories, footwear and a new word which we’re sure they’ve made up – athleisure – meaning, well, you can probably work it out for yourself…
One of the most colourful events in London’s cultural calendar is the celebrations commemorating the Chinese New Year. 2018 is the Year of the Dog and from Shaftesbury Avenue down to Trafalgar Square you’ll find the biggest celebrations outside of Asia!
The activities kick off on Sunday 18th and we suggest getting down there early! The whole area will be packed with amazing parades, dragon and lion dances, traditional Chinese dance and music and some of China’s top music acts! There are two food zones, a family zone in Leicester Square, amazing martial arts performances and to end the day with a bang, there’s an incredible pyrotechnic display that lights up Trafalgar Square.
Here are your at-a-glance diary dates:
Pure London: Sunday 11th February – Tuesday 13th February
Valentine’s Day: Wednesday 14th February
Chinese New Year: Friday 16th February (Celebrations take place on the 18th)
London Fashion Week Festival: Thursday 22nd February – Sunday 25th February
Who said February was a boring month in London?!
